____Ron Hooper is a native Louisianian with both Bachelor and Master degrees in Graphic Design. Ron's paintings reflect an innate artistic mind combined with the skill and knowledge necessary for true realism. Like many of his contemporaries, Hooper began his career as a commercial artist.
____His love for the Southern way of life is often evident in his choice of subjects- wildlife, Antebellum homes, landscapes, and steamboats to name a few, which he paints with a character and style that virtually places the viewer within the scene. Like so many artists of realism, Hooper has become keenly aware of the importance of accuracy in his paintings.
____The success of Hooper's work has been such that he is now widely represented in many private and public collections and galleries throughout the U.S., Canada, Europe and the Soviet Union and his popularity continues to grow. He is currently an instructor of art at Louisiana State University of Shreveport.
